Nectar & Root

My interest in Erin’s work was initially piqued by her combination of sophisticated, elegant technique and playful, adventuresome materials. There is a freshness and innovation in her arrangements that makes her unique among Vermont-based florists. She takes an infectious delight in her craft, and in flowers and beautiful spaces and objects. Her friendly, easy-going demeanor makes her very pleasant to work with, and her broad knowledge of flowers both familiar and rare, their growing seasons, and specialized vendors in Vermont and across the country made her an invaluable resource. I also appreciated her professionalism and her frank and honest discussion of costs; she responded to all of my questions and requests with clarity and poise, and it helped me feel confident in my decisions- and in Erin. The whole process of working with her, from the first phone call to the week of the wedding itself, was a pleasure. That said, nothing—not the beautiful pictures of her past work, not even the gorgeous sample arrangement she put together after our fun early-morning expedition to the flower market—prepared me for the exquisite beauty of the flowers. Even though she gave me exactly what I wanted, they still managed to exceed my expectations. She incorporated details I had mentioned off-handedly many months before, and every component, from garland to centerpieces to boutonnieres to an extraordinary flower crown for our officiant, was both a satisfying realization of a year’s work and a beautiful surprise.
