Kendall and Willy's September wedding at Shelburne Farms in Shelburne, Vermont was a great opportunity for Nectar & Root to create a classic design for their day using green, white, and accents of plum and yellow blooms for season late-summer, early fall vibes. When I first spoke with Kendall, she was especially excited to implement al fresco dining under the stars. She also let me know that originally, at some point she had hoped to host their wedding on the island where she was raised in Washington state. During September, she always remembers how abundant the blackberries were on the island and she hoped we might be able to incorporate some into her overall wedding day aesthetic, to feel like home and celebrate her origins. This was a great point of inspiration for me as I began to dream up Kendall's day. We accented blackberry branches with classic white garden roses, set against wildflowers such as nigella. We also used dark rich foliage including arena, with its dark colored berries, and bush ivy. Smaller elements of clematis, ferns and ranunculus completed the look.
