This spring photoshoot of wedding-inspired flowers featured a modern green wedding bouquet with roses and an artful aesthetic. We loved creating these wedding-inspired flowers in March. Fruit, glimmers of gold, and dark moody lighting grounded this Brooklyn-based photoshoot in the era of Dutch master paintings. A variety of blooms included orchids, carnations, anthurium, fritillaria and spirea typical of victorian arrangements of uninhibited specimens gathered for still-life renderings. Our palette of jade green, mauve, and yellow spoke to the coming of spring in New York. For this project, I collaborated with Kelly of 822 Weddings as well as Nikole of Little Branch Events. They helped to prep blooms, improvise in finding the perfect lighting and backdrops, and they traveled with Nectar & Root all the way to Brooklyn for an event that resulted in these gorgeous pictures.
